The task of the project was to work towards making the signage for areas of interest within Leeds city centre more interactive.

An experimental typographic approach was taken, introducing a system of
‘cut-up’ letterforms, yet keeping emphasis on distinctive areas for legibility.

The ‘cut-up’ typographic system was at first used for names of specific places of interest within Leeds city centre, but later developed into a series of 4 questions which were used to categorise and address the locations.

To maximise public interactivity, a QR code was included in the designs which, when scanned using a mobile phone or device, opens up Leeds City Council’s ‘Visit Leeds’ map of the city centre.
