Lettering designed for use as a book cover for a revised edition of Miguel de Cervantes's novel Don Quixote.

The overly-ornate, quixotic X character was designed to reflect the novel's protagonist, El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha.

The lettering was paired with Ibarra Real,
a typeface originally designed by Jerónimo Antonio Gill in 1780 for the printed edition of Don Quixote for the Real Academia Española, by the prestigious Spanish printer Joaquín Ibarra. The typeface was brought back to life thanks to the work of numerous typographic designers, following research conducted by Jose María Ribagorda.
